What to Expect
What to expect on install day
A residential flooring install moves through three phases: getting the room ready, the install itself, and a final walkthrough together. Here is how each one goes.

- Before we arrive
Get the space ready
- Clear the room of furniture, rugs, and belongings
- Take down wall hangings and electronics in the work area
- Confirm a clean path for material delivery
- Let the material acclimate in your home per the manufacturer
- Keep the installation area at a steady temperature and humidity
- Install day
We get to work
- We protect baseboards, doorways, and adjoining rooms
- We check and prep the subfloor before anything goes down
- Floors go in with tight seams and clean transitions
- Transitions, trim, and moldings are fit as we go
- We clean up the work area throughout the day

- Final walkthrough
We finish together
- We walk the space with you to review the finish
- We confirm seams, transitions, and trim look right
- We answer care questions so the floor lasts
- We pack up our tools and leave the space tidy
A few things that help install day go smoothly
Plan for someone to be home, or to be reachable, on install day. Keep pets secured away from the work area for their safety and ours. If the material needs to acclimate, we will let you know how long it should sit in the space before we start, because that step prevents gaps and movement later.
We protect the areas we pass through, and we clean as we go. When we are done, we walk the floor with you so the finish is exactly what you expected before we pack up.
