Flooring Installation in Fitchburg, WI
Fitchburg, on the south side of the Madison area, has a lot of newer homes built with open floor plans that run the main level together. Kitchen flowing into living, living into dining, sight lines straight through. That openness is the defining feature here, and it shapes how we plan a floor.
When one space reads as a single room, the floor beneath it should too, which is why running one continuous floor through the main level is the project we do most in Fitchburg.
One floor, one continuous surface
The signature flooring project in Fitchburg is the continuous main level. Open plan homes read as a single space, and a floor that changes material halfway across that space breaks the sight line. So we plan the layout to run one material, usually LVP or hardwood, straight through kitchen, living and dining, with transitions only where the structure or the material requires them.
For LVP, that planning includes expansion gaps. Floating floors need room to move, and most manufacturers say not to pin them under kitchen islands or cabinets. We work the layout around the island and the transitions so the floor performs the way it was designed to.
Where tile still makes sense
Even in a continuous main level, there are places where a different material is the right call: a defined entry zone, a bath, a laundry room. We plan those transitions so they look deliberate, not accidental. The shared details on each material, like subfloor flatness for LVP and joist deflection limits for tile, are on the services overview.
New floors, not refinishes
Fitchburg's homes are newer, so most of our work here is installing floors the builder never put in, or replacing builder grade material with something the homeowners chose. We install new floors only and do not refinish existing ones. If a floor just needs a refinish, we will say so.
